Practical Approach to Ovarian Masses - Part 7
When is Doppler Useful?
When is Doppler Useful?
what do we primarily use doppler for in ovarian masses
- To assess whether tissue is solid or cystic.
- If there is flow, it's solid
where is this most commonly applied
- Most often the distinction is between something that looks like an endometrioma, but turns out to be solid.
How do we maximize our color doppler sensitivity
- Maximize the Transmit Power
- This is found in different locations on different machines
- Consider reducing the scanning frequency
- Use the "Low Flow" setting on the machine
- Increase Color Gain until noise is evidence, then back off a little bit
